Running time: 60 minutes
An autobiofictional lecture-performance about love across imaginary borders. Using a chronologically ordered display of artifacts, memorabilia and digital traces from their shared past as starting points into their private and public lives, hylozoic/desires recount their love story in narrative verse and music. How else could they prove to a bureaucracy that they’re in love?
In the guise of an interrogation by the home office into the validity of a claim to love, H/D recount an improbable journey that traces geographical leaps and bounds, technological trajectories and artistic shifts that began fifteen years ago, across the universe.
An experimental record of a reconstituted/remembered past, the lecture-performance blurs the lines between fact and fiction, questions the authority of the narratives that sustain the fragile lines between the material and the immaterial, and between history and the future.
